Virtual Curriculum: Before You Get Started

The following course includes eleven-lesson plans, along with a pacing guide, designed for educators teaching remotely. This curriculum was designed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and allows educators to experience the same Invention Convention experience while teaching through remote or hybrid circumstances.

The Connecticut Invention Convention Curriculum is broken into suggested steps -- or stages -- which we feel will make the process easier for you and your students. Each stage is accompanied by a number of suggested activities, each of which comes with important documents like lesson plans, presentations, and other resources that will make your life easier!

  • Stage 1: Introduction to Inventing
  • Stage 2: Identifying and Ideating
  • Stage 3: Understanding
  • Stage 4: The Engineering Design Process
  • Stage 5: Communicating
  • Stage 6: Entrepreneurship
