There's a whole lot about the Connecticut Invention Convention that makes you feel good about building a strong foundation for tomorrow.  We are teaching kids some of the most fundamental skills that helps invest in our country's future.  We are instilling a sense of self-esteem and accomplishment that is hard to achieve in other ways.  We are making a name for Connecticut as the home of Invention worldwide.

Judges play a key role in all of this.  Judges provide these budding inventors with their first taste of reality – "Will someone other than my Mom and Dad think this is a really great idea like I do?"

Judges are a key part of the whole experience - starting with the local school event, to the CIC Regionals (new this year!), and then to the CIC Finals. Judging continues on the national level at the National Invention Convention, now in its second year.  For these kids, it's the pinnacle of their invention process.  We value each and every judge who is a part of the Invention Convention, from the new judges who joined us for the first time last year, to the judges who have been with us for 20+ years.  Being a CIC judge is a fulfilling and worthy experience.  It's something judges tell us they look forward to each year.  It's as much an event for the judges as it is for the kids.

The various sections in this Judges tab help you learn what it means to be a judge and how to apply.  We hope you will not only take that step towards becoming a judge, but do so each year.
